We're hiring!
SFCC is seeking to fill four positions as part of our Education Toolkit project. The contracts run 16 months starting in February 2022 and are funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada. The entire SFCC team works from home, across so-called Canada. We’re thrilled to be able to bring on new voices to our team and expand our capacity to combat sexual violence and systems of oppression on our campuses. Below are the position descriptions for each opportunity. If you have any specific questions or accommodation requests, please contact apply@sfcccanada.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
Students for Consent Culture Canada is a national student-led organization working to end campus sexual violence through building networks between student-survivor organisations, student unions, community organizations, and other advocates. We take an anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, intersectional, survivor-centric approach to addressing campus sexual violence.
In 2022, SFCC’s Education Portfolio begins work on the Education Toolkit, a resource for students and campus leaders to create peer-to-peer learning experiences around consent and sexual violence. In lieu of a prescriptive bystander intervention and consent lectures, the Education Toolkit will be rooted in peer-to-peer or train-the trainer pedagogies, providing students with resources to create workshops that specifically respond to the needs of their campus communities. The Toolkit will include several modules that expand on both broad and specific intersectional topics related to sexual violence which include, but are not limited to disabled, Indigenous, international, and LGBTQ2S+ students. This 16-month project is funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).
A hiring committee will review all applicants and will contact promising candidates after December 31, 2021. Interviews will occur between January 10-21, 2022.
Our Commitment to Anti-Racism, Equity, and Justice
As an organisation working in and supporting anti-violence, we recognise the imperative need to centre voices who are most harmed and marginalised by colonial systems such as post-secondary institutions. We welcome and encourage individuals from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour), LGBTQQIP2SAA, and disability communities to be members and staff of our organisation.
